Susan often worked in watercolor. The watercolors in this collection range in size from small 7 x 5-inch paintings on handmade paper from India to the largest at 16 x 12. Many are lake studies, though you will find some other subjects mixed in. Some were matted by Susan, at times drastically cropping, and sometimes tilting, the original painting. I retained her choices, photographing those within their paper mats. A few show signs of mud and water damage from a mudslide that occurred when Susan lived in Santa Barbara, CA. Matting could perhaps hide some of this damage.
